Rhythm of Children – Introduction

I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to the new blogging adventure and social experiment that I hinted at in my Goal Planning Monday post yesterday.

On Sunday Mike and I decided that for 30 days we were not going to interfere with our children and allow them free range to do whatever they want. Of course there would be some ground rules but for the most part it would be our duty to keep our mouths shut and let them lead the way.

If you are interested in finding out more stay tuned as every few days I’ll be giving an update here on what’s been going on (I was going to blog daily here as well but it just isn’t going to happen). For your reading pleasure.

So here’s the plan…NO PLAN! What we are doing and why are we doing it.

Day 1 in which I muse about lack of sleep.

Day 2 in which big orange chickens invade and we go to the library.

Because he is so cute…

I have to post some more about my wee little boy.

I managed to catch him speaking on my iPod the other day (usually, he’ll stop what he’s doing to try and play with my camera) so I’ll share that first.

A few days ago we hear the toilet flush and Ruadhán comes out of the room holding his baby doll.

We ask him if he flushed the toilet.

He says, “Nope!” Then he holds out the hand of his baby doll (who I’m sure will get into her own fair share of mischief if this is any indication.

~~~~~~~~~~
This child always has something totally cute to say and there’s usually a new story every day but I haven’t been in the habit of writing them down so now the ones I wanted to mention have been forgotten but I’m sure that as I get blogging more and more that I’ll have more Ruadhán antics to share!
Taking Back My Blog
A little bit less than a year ago something personal happened to us that caused me great pain. Instead of feeling fiercely proud of my children, everything we’d accomplished in our home, and our completely remade (and HAPPY) life, I felt angry and discouraged. I didn’t want to share about our daily life anymore and my blog became a place to post my reviews and join in random memes to help keep the blog alive. Well, I’m ready to give things another go. This is MY life, and I am happy. My kids are happy. My husband is happy. We love where we live, we love our house, we are relaxed! Am I happy with what happened? NO. Can I forget it? NOT REALLY. Can I move on? ABSOLUTELY! We are happy and that is what matters and I hope that is what shines through in my blog as I bring back more and more of the things we do and our little special moments. It is a privileged that I can share these times with family and friends and I hope that you feel privileged to share with us!
Hold on to your hats, I’m glad to be back!
A Day in Statuses
Well, it’s been something like 14 hours since I announced that I was logging off of facebook for lent. When I first started using facebook about three years ago I was one of those people that update their status every couple of hours. Well, I weaned off of that and now only post an update every day or two, however, all day today I’ve been thinking of the day as a series of status updates. I promise I won’t do this everyday (or probably ever again) but here’s today in statuses!
Katrina thinks 6 am is way too early to be waking up…..at least the baby is happy.
Katrina is putting the baby down for a nap at 8:30.
Katrina wishes Morgaine would do quality work in her workbooks….I know she can do it….so frustrating.
Katrina is thrilled that Morgaine made the “100% Club” in spelling….only wishes that school work wasn’t motivated by computer programs.
Katrina thinks 21st century babies learn to beep before they learn to talk.
Katrina is having a blast doing high school geometry with Liam…..he’s some kind of genius. *lol*
Katrina scorched a whole pot of beans…..any supper ideas?
Katrina really enjoyed the once a year treat of Subways.
Katrina thinks Netflix needs to come with a random movie/tv show button.
Katrina is going to watch a show with her man…before the baby wakes up.
Yes, way back in the day I would have posted ALL THAT in one day! I was something like addicted….are you?
